Waste water analysis and Treatment station consulting
Sewage treatment, or domestic wastewater treatment, is the process of removing contaminants from sewage. It includes physical, chemical and biological processes to remove physical, chemical and biological contaminants. Its objective is to produce a waste stream (or treated effluent) and a solid waste or sludge also suitable for discharge or reuse back into the environment. This material is often inadvertently contaminated with toxic organic and inorganic compounds.
We offer a range of Services for waste water treatment:
Consulting
We provide comprehensive Analysis of an existing or new wastewater treatment system.
After an intensive testing program, to establish an accurate profile of the waste water to be treated, we can provide recommendations for modification on an existing system or a range of new systems.
Testing: Analytical
Pollution monitoring and determinants for the calculation of the total organic load for each waste water by analysing parameters like
- pH
- Ammonium
- Nitrate
- Nitrite
- Phosphate
- Sulphate
- Dissolved Oxygen
- Acidity
- Alkalinity
- Total Hardness
- Carbonate Hardness
- Odour
- Heavy Metals
- Nutrients [Magnesium, Calcium, Chlorine etc]
- Potassium permanganate Demand
- Biological oxygen demand [BOD5]
- Chemical oxygen demand
Testing: Microbiological
All necessary microbiological tests will be analysed like
- Total coliforms
- Faecal coliforms
- Escherichia coli
- Etc.
Testing: Active sludge under the Microscope
Microscopic examination of wastewater sludge’s is invaluable in determining the health of the treatment system and in evaluating treatment problems that may be occurring. Water treatment with an activated sludge system is dependant on micro organisms to function correctly. The wrong composition of nutrients or type and abundance of life forms however, can cause such common problems as sludge bulking and foaming
We provide the identification and quantification of
- Bacteria
- Algae
- Fungi
- Protozoa
- Rotifer
- Nematodes
All micro organisms will be identified and assessed.
Many different bacteria commonly occur, each with a different cause and control approach.
These are some common causes: low oxygen concentration, septicity, low nutrients, high grease and oil, or low pH.
The microscopic examination identifies the indicator organisms present. This information is then used to deduce causes for the problem and solution suggestions.
Reduction of water soluble Nutrients; especially Phosphate, Ammonium, Nitrate in your existing waste water plant.
Onsite project including Electrical Coagulation Unit, Algae Bio Reactor to provide an economical low maintenance addition to any existing plant to comply with the new, more strict Resource Consent.
We offer extensive testing of the existing effluent and provide an expert report for an environment friendly solution for the right addition to your sewage or effluent plant.
